Emergency Lighting FAQ
How often should emergency lighting be tested?
BS 5266 requires monthly function tests (flick test) and a full annual discharge test. We offer maintenance contracts to handle this for you.
Is this a legal requirement?
Yes. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires suitable emergency lighting in non-domestic premises.
How long should emergency lights stay on?
Standard requirement is 3 hours duration for most commercial premises. Some smaller properties may only need 1 hour.
Do you provide the certification?
Yes. All installations include proper certification, and we maintain test logs for compliance records.
